The gorgeous sunshine has awoken lots of the flowers that were sleeping late this year...For now, its the time for lilacs...One of my most favourite blooms...and the scent... divine!
Makes me just want to bury my face in it! :)
I love its old fashioned appeal.
To carry on the floral theme...
I often find the old china posies on my travels - Very often they have broken or chipped flower heads, but with a few good ones. I've used these in the past to create swags on mirrors, but am always keen to think of new uses too.
This time I've made the salvaged pieces into corsage brooches.
I've added velvet millinery leaves and scraps of tatty antique lace, complete with a brooch pin attached.
I've packaged them on old gardening book pages.
They'll be coming with me to the fair on Saturday.
Have another lovely day full of sunshine!
I'm hoping to watch some of the Chelsea Flowers Show coverage sometime this week...
